ACTIVEUK - News
Natasha Bradley (pictured left) was elected to the post of President of the National Youth Council (Active UK).

The change of name to Active UK was discussed but no resolution was proposed. The Executive of the Council will be discussing this in preparation for this and other proposals at the next Council meeting.

The European Good Templar Youth Federation (EGTYF) camp (Jump 06) took place in Basel, Switzerland from July 29th - August 5th 2006. It was a chance to make friends with people from other countries and was a great opportunity to see the amount of young people across Europe who have the same ideals as us. During the week the federation changed it's name from EGTYF to ACTIVE, with a subtitle of: Sobriety, Friendship and Peace. Visit www.egtyf.org for details.

Hi, My name is Natasha. I was the representative from the National Youth Council at the EGTYF congress. I really enjoyed the chance to go and be our rep. This was only my second time abroad (both times to Switzerland, the last time being 1986). I felt very welcome at the congress and was glad they were a friendly group who would come and talk to you if you were sat by yourself. I arrived part way through the second session of the congress because they had started before the advertised time. During this session I stood up and spoke (not at all like me, I would normally just sit and listen).
The only thing I wasn't that keen on during the week was the food (I like a bit more variety, I can't remember much of what we had to eat except: lettuce, bread and pasta).
